I stumble over an Alternate History [link] version of Avatar the Last airbender by *rufftoon [link] and got totaly inspired by this "what if"-line of story.
I thought well, if the poor characters of the stoyr had to wait yet another 20 yeares for the Avatar to return, then one or two of them should have tryed for a quiet happy life, at least ONCE!

So, I started on a little fanfiction inspired by *rufftoon  storyline. A little fanfiction called "The short Happy Life of Prince Zuko".
The story is in short (sort off):

10 yeares after Zuko has been banished from the Fire nation he and Iroh is visiting an earth kingdom village in pursue for replacement part for their (yet again) broken ship against Zukos better wishes he and Iroh are forced to stay in the village over the night and are offered to stay with a young woman, Song, and her mother.
Iroh persuade Zuko that both he and his men need to rest from their travels and they decide to stay in the village for a day or two. A day or two becomes a week, a week becomes a month and during this time Song repeatedly tries to reach out to Zuko, she eventually do and slowly they becomes friends, and as the mounts passes into a year they becomes more than that.
Zuko hand his men have been hidden in the village under false names (Lee), and one night Zuko takes Song to the side and tells her his true name and rang.
She tells him that maybe others know him as the scarred and banished prince, but she knows him as a brave and kind man, and whatever name he goes under that is the man she loves.
Happy and flattered by her answer he pushes on with his real question and asks her to marry him.
The marriage is a happy event in the village and everyone is happy for the young couple. Even if Songs mother is a bit hesitant to the fact that she has gotten the banished prince of the fire nation as son-in-law.
About one year later shortly after the small family has been blessed with yet another member a dark shadow from Zukos passed comes to visit.

It will probably be werry melodramatic an romance-romantic but, well that's just my way of writing. Sorry.

But this evening Im just to tired to write more than just the synopsis.
But it will come. I promes. Or is it a threat?
And yes my English sucks, I know!
